How do I register for an account and track my home?

This article guides users through the process of creating a new account on Homes.co.nz and explains how to track their property to access features updates and start receiving information changes for their properties profile.

To claim your home you will first need to be a registered user with Homes.co.nz

Step 1: To Register for Homes.co.nz, click on the 'Log in/Register' button in the top right hand corner of the website

Step 2: SELECT 'create an account' in the pop-up box

Step 3: You'll then need to enter your email address, name and a password and select 'Sign up'
Our passwords require a minimum of 8 characters comprised of an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a numeral and a symbol.

Step 4: You will then receive a confirmation email with a code that needs to be entered into the sign up box.
Once you have confirmed your account with the code you will not need to do this again.

If you accidentally close the pop-up box without confirming your account, you'll need to use the 'Forgot your password' link in the sign in box to get a new confirmation code.

Once registered and logged in, you can claim your home!

Simply locate the property by searching for the address.

SELECT the property card (photo) to view your properties full profile page.

THEN SELECT the 'I own this home' option.

A disclaimer will appear to verify that you are the legal owner of the property, SELECT 'Yes I own this home' and then SELECT to 'Close' the pop-up box.

Congratulations you are now Tracking your Property!

Once you have tracked your home you can

If you no longer need to track your home - Just log into homes.co.nz using the same email address you claimed the home with, go to the properties full details page and select the option ' Stop tracking this home'

If someone else has already tracked your property, please check with the other people who own the property to make sure they have not already claimed the property.

If the property is claimed by someone who is not the current owner please use our chat bot to request for the property to be freed up for the current homeowner. We will be able to get this actioned for you within the following 2 - 3 working days so you may want to check the site again in a few days and claim your property.
